About the Role

This is not a social media role and not a "run the ads, publish the blogs" role. You will own the commercial question behind all of it: what needs to change, be built, improved, promoted, ranked, automated or tested so that we acquire more qualified UK clients?

That means you will spend as much time deciding what should exist as promoting what already exists. If a calculator would capture high intent searchers, you make the case, spec it, brief our developers and then rank it. If a service page loses 90% of its visitors before the form, you find out why and fix it. If a channel is burning budget without producing leads, you say so and stop it.

You will report directly to management with no marketing committee between you and a decision, working alongside in-house developers and designers. You will own the number that matters: qualified leads and the revenue that follows.

What You Will Own:

  • Strategy: Growth strategy and roadmap built from market, competitor and customer research. Channel mix, priorities, KPIs and baselines. Short, medium and long-term plans.
  • Website & product growth: Audit our sites and proactively recommend new service pages, location pages, landing pages, content hubs, lead generation tools and calculators, better forms and booking flows, stronger CTAs and trust signals, clearer pricing presentation, and new digital products worth launching. You should be able to say: "if we build this, it should win us this type of customer, for these reasons, and here is how we'll know."
  • SEO: Technical (crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals), on-page (metadata, internal linking, schema), off-page (backlinks, digital PR), plus keyword and search intent research, content clusters and topical authority.
  • Local search: Google Business Profile optimisation, citations, location pages, service-area strategy, map visibility, service + location keyword strategies, and ethical review generation.
  • Content: Content strategy tied to commercial intent: service pages, location pages, guides, FAQs, comparison content, case studies, lead magnets, LinkedIn and email content. Every piece should do a job: traffic → trust → leads → customers.
  • Paid media: Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn where they earn their place, plus retargeting. Accountable for CPL, CAC, ROAS and landing page performance and comfortable telling us when not to spend.
  • Conversion optimisation: CTA, landing page, form and booking flow optimisation, A/B testing, funnel and drop off analysis, heatmaps and session recordings.
  • Analytics: GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking, UTM discipline, attribution and monthly reporting that answers what happened, why, and what we should do next.
  • Lead generation, email & automation: Nurture sequences, segmentation, CRM integration and marketing automation, plus partnerships and referral routes.
  • Competitor intelligence: Continuous monitoring of UK and London competitors across rankings, content, backlinks, ads, offers and positioning, translated into specific opportunities.

We expect you to use AI tools to work faster and research wider with human fact-checking, originality and editorial judgement applied to everything published.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in digital marketing or growth, with demonstrable lead generation results
  • Strong hands on SEO: technical, on-page, off-page, and proven ranking improvements for commercially valuable keywords

  • Google Ads and at least one paid social platform, with real accountability for CPL and ROAS

  • Ability to specify requirements and brief developers and designers
  • Solid understanding of the UK market, UK search behaviour and UK competitors
  • Excellent communication in English
  • We don't expect world class mastery of all of the above, genuine strength in SEO, paid, analytics and CRO, competence across the rest, and the judgement to know when to bring in a specialist.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills: Professional services, B2B technology or healthcare/regulated sector marketing · managing growth across multiple brands · working knowledge of HTML/CSS or CMS platforms · CRM and marketing automation (HubSpot, Zoho, Mailchimp or similar) · digital PR and UK link acquisition · marketplace or two-sided platform growth · advanced conversion tracking (server-side tagging, call tracking, offline conversions) ·
